this item is listed as a canon replacement charger for the powershot sd 870 is and powershot sd850 is, but it is not compatible with the powershot sd850, so it probably won’t fit the sd870 either. the sd850 battery has three connectors, but this replacement charger only has two prongs and neither of them fit. the battery does not even fit in the charger, much less connect with it. the disturbing thing is this product is listed as a canon product when it clearly is not. if it had been listed correctly i most likely would not have bought it since i have had problems with off-brand products that claim compatibility with already-owned products. all i can say is buyer beware.

This is clearly NOT a replacement charger for the Powershot SD870 IS. Like the previous post, the 870 battery has three prongs. It’s not compatible with the two pronged item listed here.

I lost my charger on my last vacation and could not find a replacement in the store. Lucky for me because this one was crazy inexpensive and works just fine.

Others have complained about this item, but it works as advertised. It does have less prongs than the battery, but it does not affect its charging capability.
Good product and very inexpensive, original canon charger is a lot more.
