After a good decade of Canon "G" cameras, we are finally presented with the 12th iteration. Although, on paper, it looks very similar to the S95. So which one is the better camera? Is there a difference that can't be seen from the specs sheet? Watch the video to see. @glisenti516 I’m not sure size was an issue looking at that flashgun. Its like Lewis Hamilton racing F1 in a Prius because he’s worried about his carbon footprint… The carbon footprint is relatively irrelevant to F1. He drives the car he does because its the best suited to the job. The Oly Pen does not have the same ease of use, or functionality as an aspc or full frame camera. Much in the same way- a toy hoover works, but doesnt have the same functionality as a real hoover…
@royalbollocking that’s an olympus pen, not a toy camera.. some photographers who work for magazines do carry it as its so small but with a rather big sensor, providing a near dslr image quality… and they didn’t bring a nikon camera. Kai attaches a Nikon strap onto his Canon.
this guy knows nothing about cameras… I can’t believe I watched him eat, take crappy photos, and then stuff the cams into his pocket. What a waste of time.
Love s95 . Would buy it soon. Thanks for good review , DigitalRevCom.
Portability , for my opinion is on the 1st place . For serious work we have our big brother DSLR’s , but i think i wouldn’t be carryng anywhere the meaty g12. S95 is realy like the notebook ,which i carrying with me all day long.
@HEARTLOCKEDDD Sony Nex 3 and 5 are better than G12 without doubt. Bigger sensor equals better picture resolution (details, prints etc.). Considering lenses I would choose 18 which in this case is 2.0 crop so it gives us equivalent of 35mm (classic small frame good for street photo and casual every day situations.

this guy cracks me up, nice work
Psh, You took Nikon cameras to a Canon conference? Thats almost as embarrasing as the guy in the white shirt at 1:09 with the toy camera..
Which is more durable for outdoor use? The S96 or G12?
Oh I wish the s95 would have this flipscreen, so it would be easier to film videos!

@HEARTLOCKEDDD
The NEX is better for a few reasons, but its also considerably more expensive.
